Providing information on Japanese films for the overseas

With an aim to provide information on Japanese films for the overseas, UNIJAPAN carries out the following three projects.

1. The management of Japanese film websites (UNIJAPAN official website and JFDB (Japanese Film Database)

At the official site of our Association, together with information on UNIJAPAN's activities we collect and provide the information on Japanese film industry. Within JFDB (Japanese film Database) we gather the information on Japanese films which have been released within Japan and present it bilingually in Japanese and English.

2. The publishing of 'Japanese Film' , a yearbook of Japanese films for the overseas

With support of Japan's Ministry of Culture (Bunka-cho) , UNIJAPAN edits, publishs and distributes a bilingual Japanese - English yearbook 'Japanese Film'. 'Japanese Film' provides information on Japanese films that have been released officially in Japanese theaters during the previous year, statistical data on Japanese film industry and contact details of Japanese film related companies and organizations. As of April 2008 the same information is provided within renewed JFDB (Japanese Film Database). 'Japanese Film' is destributed as a reference material at overseas film markets such those in Cannes and Berlin and sent out to Japanese embassies and government bodies worldwide.
