LA EigaFest 2012 ANNOUNCES CALL FOR 2012 SHORT FILM SUBMISSIONS

HOLLYWOOD, CA - Japan Film Society (JFS) will hold its second annual LA EigaFest in conjunction with the American Cinematheque. The Festival's Golden Zipangu Award recognizes excellence in filmmaking craft by honoring innovation in all genres of short films. The winning film will be selected for a premiere at the EigaFest this December.

Date: December 14-16, 2012 (Fri-Sun)
Venue: The Egyptian Theatre (Hollywood)
LA EigaFest 2012 is now calling for short film submissions.

Requirements

・At least one of the above-the-line crew must be of Japanese descent OR the film must feature a Japanese theme
・Non-English language films must have English subtitles
・All films must have been completed on or after January 1, 2011
・Films must be an LA premiere (has not been previously screened in LA)

Categories

・Genres: ALL
・Running time: 25 minutes or less (including the end credits)

Deadlines & Fees

・$25 entry fee for submissions with a postmark on or before July 31, 2012 (Tuesday)
・$35 entry fee for submissions with a postmark on or before Aug 31, 2012 (Friday)

How to Submit Your Film

1.Please email your name, address, phone number, film title, and country of origin to submissions@japanfilmsociety.org.
2.Go to the LA EigaFest website and pay the submission fee online.
3.Download the application form from the website, fill it out and send it to the Japan Film Society along with the following materials (submission materials will not be returned):
 a.Screener DVD
 b.Film synopsis
 c.Director bio/filmography
 d.Production notes if available.
 e.At least two production photos, color or B&W
 f.Reviews and additional press coverage if available
4.Mail packaged submission to:
