Requirements

• Films created by emerging Asian directors (only for TOKYO FILMeX Competition).
• Films from around the world which represent the trend in independent filmmaking of today (only for Special Screening).
• Films that have not been officially released in Japan prior to their showing at TOKYO FILMeX 2008.
• Films that have been prduced after April 1, 2007.
• As a rule, preference will be given to films which have not yet been screened in any other film festival or film event in Japan.
• Films of 60 minutes or more in length (only for competition).

Format

Films that have 35mm exhibition prints or videos (only competition can accept 16 mm prints).

Subtitles

Need to be subtitled in English except English spoken films.

Entry Fee

Cost of selected films print transportation are covered by the Festival.
One director from each selected films shall be invited to the Festival, with the expenses of air ticket and hotel covered by the Festival.
